Welcome to the Winchester Orchestra- home of ORCHESTRA X
The Winchester Orchestra is an innovative professional chamber orchestra located in Northern Virginia. The musicians from the WO are very much in demand and also perform with the National Symphony, Wolf Trap Opera, Maryland Symphony and Fairfax Symphony (to name a few).
We are dedicated to challenging classical music performance boundaries by offering fresh interpretations of the standard orchestral repertoire as well as the discovery of new and unusual works. Through live performances that are evocative, dramatic, innovative and passionate we seek to develop new audiences of all ages for classical music by redefining classical music performances, repertoire and the scope of musical understanding.
The Winchester Orchestra can turn their minds and hands easily to classical, jazz, film music or crossover.
So as to better serve the Northern Virginia Arts Community, The Winchester Orchestra believes in collaboration rather than competition with existing community arts organizations in and around the Northern Virginia area.
Our true sense of "community" will bring the unparalleled excellence of the Winchester Orchestra to you as we are "The Most Innovative Chamber Orchestra of Northern Virginia".

Help our local economy-Give to the WO!
Fact: Any time money changes hands there is a measurable economic impact. Social service organizations, libraries, and all entities that spend money have an economic impact. What makes the economic impact of arts and culture organizations unique is that, unlike most other industries, they induce large amounts of related spending by their audiences. For example, when patrons attend a performing arts event, they may purchase dinner at a restaurant, eat dessert after the show, and return home and pay the baby-sitter. All of these expenditures have a positive and measurable impact on the economy. Taken from the national economic impact studies from Americans for the Arts
