The Winchester Orchestra was founded by Maestro Andrew Gekoskie in June of 2008. The Winchester Orchestra is committed to changing lives through music’s extraordinary power to communicate, inspire, uplift, educate and entertain. We are dedicated to challenging classical performance boundaries by offering fresh interpretations of the standard orchestral repertoire as well as the discovery of new and unusual works. Through live performances that are evocative, dramatic, innovative and passionate we seek to develop new audiences of all ages for classical music by redefining classical music performances, repertoire and the scope of musical understanding. In addition, The Winchester Orchestra can turn their minds and hands easily to classical, jazz, film music or crossover.  A chamber orchestra for all genres, minds and ages.

So as to better serve the Northern Virginia Arts Community, The Winchester Orchestra believes in collaboration rather than competition with existing community arts organizations in and around the Northern Virginia area.

The Winchester Orchestra is a 501 (c) 3 charitable organization.

The Winchester Orchestra is committed to:

• Increasing the awareness of, and support for, music written for chamber orchestra
• Developing new audiences for classical music
• Producing regional performances and outreach programs, especially at schools, universities, churches, and other appropriate venues in order to serve more constituents and communities
• Touring throughout the United States and in other countries throughout the world
• Recording significant orchestral repertoire
